Oops...

Of course in my last post I didn't really need to add Baptist to Reformed as to be truly Reformed is to have a Biblical position on baptism! [I am taking advantage of the fact that my co-blogger is so busy at the moment...]

Pete. Just wondering if you have any good books/papers on this issue?

Hi Kristan - I hope the post was taken in the right spirit - mainly as a friendly dig at my co-blogger! For the record, while i think baptism is important (it is commanded by Jesus - it is hard to think of anything more important), I do not think that disagreements over its timing or mode should divide Christians.
So, all that understood, you could try the following:

Good sermons/ articles from the Baptist position by John Piper: http://www.desiringgod.org/ResourceLibrary/TopicIndex/23/

Good summary of the infant Baptist position by Michael Horton: http://web.archive.org/web/20000524210625/www.alliancenet.org/radio/whi/commentaries/whi.com.msh.wor5.html

A book of (mixed quality!) essays on believers baptism:
http://www.amazon.com/Believers-Baptism-Covenant-Studies-Theology/dp/0805432493/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1212503267&sr=8-1

A couple of books that I have seen recommended (but not read) on infant baptism:
http://www.monergismbooks.com/Why-Do-We-Baptize-Infants-p-16417.html
http://www.monergismbooks.com/Case-for-Covenantal-Infant-Baptism-p-16419.html

If I was 'truly reformed' and took a 'biblical position' on things, I might respond thus:

With words of hatred they surround me, they attack me without cause. In return for my friendship they accuse me, but I am a man of prayer.

But since I'm not I can't!
